The rapid growth of the group associated with an important geographic spread and the natural turnover of its young workforce called for an overall training strategy. This takes shape in 2009 through a blended learning project : classroom trainings & assessment + online practice and self-evaluation.

Dokeos development community is reaching cruise speed.

Addressing new markets in Eastern Europe and Latin America led Dokeos to partner with individual programmers and IT companies whose business is based on Dokeos software.

Every two years, the Dokeos community meets to share experience, pedagogical expertise and knowledge practice. On Dec. 4-5, 2008, the Dokeos users days were organized by the University of Geneva.

Discussion focussed on collaborative learning and the Dokeos 2.0 roadmap. Patrick Roth, the organizer of the event, managed to have small group discussions and long breaks for informal discussion. 

Dokeos 1.8.6 Alpha is available for download. This new release is unstable and is not aimed at production.The release focusses on assessment (tests, feedback, exams, gradebook, certificates, assignments, reporting).

The French Red Cross promotes a self-assessment programme as part of its initial and vocational training institutes.

At the Pyrenean Regional Training Institute (IRFSS), an online self-assessment module is developped using the Dokeos Medical Delineation and Imaging Test Tool (MeDiTT®).
